Deze film vertelt het verhaal van de jonge Temudzhin Khan. Na een moeilijke jeugd te hebben gehad, waarin zijn vader werd vermoord en de gehele veestapel van zijn familie was ontnomen, groeide Temudzhin uit tot leider van alle Mongoolse stammen: Genghis Khan.
